It was such a pleasure meeting Lucas and his family a few weeks ago for their Tiny Light Foundation session. We decided to go to Chingacousy Park in Brampton on a delightful June day. His mother, Nicole, wrote this about Lucas on their TLF application:
“My son was born prematurely at 34 weeks. He remained in the NICU for the first 28 days after his birth. When he came home he seemed really uncomfortable and he screamed for 6 months straight. After many doctor visits and an MRI Lucas was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at 8 months old. Lucas has since been diagnosed with Spastic Quadriplegia Cerebral Palsy. At 14 months Lucas had his first seizure and it lasted for approx. 90 minutes. We were admitted into Sick Kids Hospital and after a couple more seizures they diagnosed him with Epilepsy as well. Lucas is unable to sit up unassisted and this time and he is not able to crawl or walk. He is currently 24 months old and for the last 18 months he has attended Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy. He is trying really hard to do things but it will be a longer road for Lucas. He is full of smiles and laughs and he enjoys being with people. “
Nicole was right about Lucas being full of smiles! Not only did he laugh and smile all during our photo session, but he also filled all of our hearts with smiles and love that morning. Thank you, Nicole, Steve and Lucas for sharing your precious time with me. I look forward to keeping in touch with you over the years, and will always keep Lucas in my heart and prayers.
Love,
Jennifer
