We’ve become a digital world – there’s no doubt about that. With so many smartphones and social media sites, it’s very easy to share a sweet photograph of your child with a simple tap of a button, straight to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. I do it almost daily!
Did you know that over a trillion photographs are taken daily, across the world? Whether it be with a SLR camera or a camera phone, everyone is a photographer in their own way. I love it – I really do, but I must admit, it saddens me too. We are loosing sight on something very important – the printed photograph.
Photographs of what you cherish the most need to be on your walls. Placing photographs on your walls is an act of love! It reinforces the feeling of belonging to a child when they see that their parents are proudly displaying their image in the most visited room of the house. It is a daily reminder of the joy and love that you have in your life. Photographs of your family, smiling at you, will warm your heart even on the coldest of days.
How often do you and your family go through the digital files on your computer and reminisce about “the day that happened”? I’m willing to bet that it’s not very often.
Even worse – how many photographs have you lost because your hard drive crashed or your iPhone decided to wipe itself? I’ve been in that heart-breaking situation. It wasn’t pleasant.
I’m putting a challenge out there for 2014. I’m challenging you to find more photographs to print and put on your wall, and I’m here to help you out with that. After our session, I will come to your home to help you select your print and look at other options to start creating your wall gallery. It’s truly an investment you won’t regret making.
Yes, that was a sales pitch, but I also want to say this – even if you don’t hire a photographer this year, do take the time to print some of your favourite images. Get them off the computer and on to your walls where they truly deserve to be!
Make 2014 the year you decorate your home with photographs!
I dare you!
